There are four main sections of the tool: Device Type, Host, MAC, and Firmware. Below, we will go into more detail about each section and what you can do within each one.

Device Type is the Ubiquiti product that was found. Such as LM2 for Loco M2. Name is the name you gave the device or the default name if you have not configured it yet. The Host is the correct IP address of the device. MAC is the device’s MAC address. Firmware is the current version of the firmware the device is using.

The most useful feature is the HOST column. It shows you the IP address of the devices, and it is a clickable link that will one in your computer’s default web browser. This is handy for finding your Ubiquiti NanoStation Loco AC units or NanoStation M2 units.

While Ubiquiti has a stand-alone Device Discovery Tool, the Chrome Extension version is the easiest to install and use.
